东北某市，晨报主任左守权得知与前妻生活多年的女儿，在校组建“问题乐队”，不务正业，恐将被学校处分。老左欲将女儿留在家乡从事铁饭碗工作，左明明却欲南下逐梦。老左苦口婆心劝说不成只好四处托人求助。女儿英语老师吕有容，因儿子转学之事有求于老左，两人化干戈为玉帛，惺惺相惜。由此引发左明明误会其二人有苟且之事，羞怒至极，父女决裂。左明明终日与乐队混迹夜场，几乎放弃学业。老同学牛校长涉嫌违纪，牵连老左被停职。吕老师因和老左的一条醉酒视频丢了工作。关乎女儿学位的英语四级考试，也只剩下最后机会。 为了女儿的未来，老左找来女儿乐队吉他手小马协助，准备孤注一掷……

　　两个正在“成名路上”摸爬滚打的工薪阶层YouTuber，为了取回不小心丢进一座废弃豪宅的篮球，决定进入这个诡秘的地方。他们在屋里互相恶作剧，打闹嬉戏，还用手机记录下这次“短暂冒险”。为了吸引更多粉丝，他们在视频里特意添加了一个假鬼影效果。没想到，视频一经上传就迅速走红。　　于是，他们发起一个大胆挑战：如果视频播放量达到预定目标，他们将会在深夜再次进入这栋老宅，这次毫无防护，完全“裸探”。随着粉丝们热烈响应，他们真的兑现了承诺。然而，这一次，他们不仅将揭开豪宅背后的秘密和那些神秘“住客”的真相，也逐渐意识到一个令人毛骨悚然的事实——或许他们自己已经不再属于这个世界了。　　面对这一切，一个问题浮现：为了成名，你究竟愿意付出多大代价？

Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble.
